The mission of West Avenue Compassion is to meet the immediate needs of our community while furnishing them the tools to move forward.
West Avenue Compassion started within its neighborhood. We asked the community what it needed and formed an organization to provide more than just immediate assistance. WAC offers programs to further develop its impact on the those around us so that they may stand proud on their own two feet and move forward! We've consistently grown since then, all thanks to the helping hands of this amazing community!
The Choice Food Pantry allows our clients seeking food assistance to choose for themselves what products they receive.
This service is by appointment only. Sign-up is on the last Tuesday of every month from 12:00 PM - 2:00 PM.
Please understand that available appointments fill up weeks in advance, so you may be placed on a waiting list.

West Avenue Compassion’s Community Garden was created to educate clients about gardening and producing healthy fruits and vegetables that are often expensive through grocery stores. Ten families can plant, harvest, and care for four 4X4 boxes through the Community Garden. Educational classes are conducted each month to provide instructional assistance on the processes and how-to’s of taking care of a garden. The clients care for their boxes for the spring and fall planting seasons.
